Bollywood movie Mukkabaaz is all set to make its opening at the 19th Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival. The entire star cast will be present for this opening. Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is very excited about it as he had missed the first opportunity at the Asian premiere.
Last Thursday, at a press meet, the filmmaker informed that it is a proud moment for him as his film will be premiered at MAMI which is a great achievement. Along with Anurag, MAMI Festival Director, Anupama Chopra, Chairperson Kiran Rao, Creative Director Smriti Kiran will be present at the venue.
The story line of the film Mukkabaaz is about a boxer from Uttar Pradesh who falls in love with a Brahmin girl.
Chairperson of MAMI, Kiran Rao informed that this year they are planning to showcase around 220 films from 49 countries in 51 languages which is one of the greatest responsibilities of the entire MAMI team.
She also added that in the India Gold competition section, movies like “Machines”, “Village Rockstars”, “Ashwatthama”, “Sexy Durga”, “Juze”, “Ralang Road” will be screened while in the International competition level movies like “Oh Lucy!”, “Apostasy”, “I am not a Witch”, “Bad Lucky Goat”, “More (Daha)” will be screened. Hence the competition will be strong.
This year, the audience have a chance to get engaged with various workshops that are going to be arranged for them which includes film reviewing, writers and distributors conversations and children’s films.
This year the main attraction will be “Movie Mela”, where discussion on films will be the main topic and it is scheduled to be on 7th of October while the main festival will start from 12th October to 18th October.
